Traditional Irish music session - 4th Monday of the month, 8.30pm
Early English music session - 3rd Tuesday of the month, 8.30pm
Jazz Jam - last Wednesday of the month, 8.30pm
Sea shanties - first Sunday of the month, 8pm
We also have a wide variety of rock, reggae and other bands on many Saturdays. Then there is our own 'White Hart Sounds' which showcases the amazing talents of local musicians (if you are an amazing local musician we have yet to meet, let the pub know)
Past bands include:
Original tunes, tunes by contemporary folk musicians including Pete Cooper, John Dipper, Bruce MacGregor and Rob Harbronand traditional tunes from England, France, Eastern Europe and beyond.
Chris Leslie of Fairport Convention wrote 'Absolutely beautiful... A fabulous album' about their CD Pete’s Trees recorded at Real World Studios, released in 2018.
BlueJay are Wendy Bryant Bartlett and Roger Jackson.
Wendy brings the true flavour of her family’s South Carolina heritage to their Country and Bluegrass songs to produce a refreshing, open sound with sweet harmonies and guitar backing. Her beautiful clear tones have enhanced many bands over the last few years including the impressive Redwing, (supporting Alison Krauss), and is professional community music animator. and Roger, from Cambridge band, The Woodberrys, has played with bands of many genres, and currently leads choirs at workshops and festivals across the country.
Owl Light Trio
Owl Light Trio are Jim Penny on concertina, Jane Griffiths on fiddle and Colin Fletcher on guitar.
All three have deep roots in traditional music, share a passion for tunes from Ireland and Brittany, and draw upon their combined influences to create compelling, heartfelt arrangements. They have performed at folk festivals throughout the UK, among them Sidmouth, Moseley, and Priddy. Jim has toured all over Europe with renowned French dance band Red Dog Green Dog, Jane has played and recorded with numerous artists, including Maddy Prior, and Colin has performed extensively with Nancy Kerr and Tim van Eyken. Recent Owl Light Trio festival performances include BBC Countryfile and Shrewsbury Folk Festival
